Cascina Blon: Nizza Monferrato - Asti - Piemonte

Cascina Blon Typical Piedmont farmhouse from the 19th century. The lovingly restored building has several rooms with stone walls and original wood beams. The farmstead, surrounded by vineyards with Barbera and Moscato grapes, is nestled in the hills of the Monferrato area and the Langhes. the center of Nizza Monferrato is a pleasant 10 minute walk on foot. The farm holiday is about an hour from Milan, Genoa, and Turin. It is also 20 minutes from Acqui Terme (a famous hot springs resort that was already famous in the days of ancient Rome) and Asti (a medieval town with its famous Palio horse race and many food and wine shows). Alba, the home of the white truffle, and Seravalle, one of Italy’s largest shopping outlets, are 30 minutes away. There are six rooms with a double bed or two beds, one room with three beds, and three suites with three or four beds each. Each room has a private bath, satellite TV with channels in English, German and French, and a hair dryer. Internet access is always available. Guests have use of a verandah where a lavish breakfast is served in warmer months. Breakfast includes several local products such as Mombaruzzo amaretto cookies, pickled grapes and fruit, and Toma, a famous cheese of the Piedmont Region. On request, guests can also use the barbecue beyond the verandah. The original wine cellar with vaulted ceiling can be used for wine tasting sessions and sampling of delicious local foods, and for small gatherings, business meetings, and private parties. The farm can organize horseback rides, bike tours, hiking and walking tours through the vineyards, and tours of local distilleries and wineries. In the fall, guests can take guided tours to see the natural truffle fields and participate in truffle hunts, even at night, in the company of TRIFULAU and his dogs. Small pets are allowed, if agreed upon in advance. Children’s toys and babysitter service is available on request. Embroidery and cooking lessons are also organized. The area is famous for its food and wines, as well as its beautiful natural settings and views. From May to November, several local fairs and exhibitions are an additional treat to be enjoyed.
